Awash Saba (full name) is the town located closest to the Awash National Park, a 756km² gazetted wildlife reserve.
Amongst dormant volcanoes, valleys, forests, waterfalls and hot springs, you may find much wildlife such as oryx, bush buk, dik-dak and gazelle as well as the chance to see carnivores such as wild dogs, cheetahs, hyena, leopards and lions. The park’s birdlife is also amongst some of the best found in the country. Highlights include Ground Hornbill, Carmine Bee Eaters, Coucals and Goaway birds amongst many birds of prey.
